Super Bowl playlist |

Victor Cruz and co. can expect an all-star playlist from Madonna today — the Material Girl’s halftime set will include some of her greatest hits, sources told The Post. Madge will kick off the show with “Vogue” before showcasing her new dance song “Give Me All Your Luvin’” — the first single from her upcoming album, MDNA. The third song is believed to be a mash-up of “Holiday” and “Ray of Light.” Cee Lo Green and a church choir will join her to wrap up the set with “Like A Prayer.” New York Post.

Madonna may have been focusing on her Super Bowl halftime performance for Sunday night, but soon her sights will turn to the Middle East. The iconic singer will launch a world tour in support of her upcoming album MDNA with a show on May 31 at Ramat Gan Stadium. Details of the show and ticket availability will be revealed later in the week. The Ramat Gan Stadium is the national football stadium in Tel Aviv. Girls Gone Wild Controversy |
||||
Sorry, Joe Francis; Madonna won’t give you a chance to rake in a Super Bowl payday. On Friday, David R. Houston, attorney for “Girls Gone Wild” mogul Francis, sent Madonna a letter, threatening legal action if she performs her new song of the same name at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday. The letter was obtained by TMZ. Also read: Madonna’s Pre-Super Bowl Video Gets Some Cred From NFL, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. Houston told the singer, “[Y]our misappropriation of my clients’ trademark will not be tolerated” and accused her of trying to take a “free ride” on “the valuable consumer goodwill and brand recognition of my clients’ trademark.” (“Girls Gone Wild?” Goodwill?) Noting that Francis is “ready and willing to pursue legal action,” Houston is demanding that Madonna “negotiate an immediate licensing agreement for use of the Trademark” and pay Francis’ attorney’s fees in the matter. Oh, and he also insisted that the Material Mom promise not to “perform or market the song at the Super Bowl this Sunday.” Also read: Super Bowl Ad Sneak: Preview Seinfeld, Ferris, “Hunger Games” and All the Rest (Video) As it turns out, Francis could have given his lawyer the day off, because Madge doesn’t plan to perform the song — and never did. “The song will not be performed at Super Bowl halftime show,” Madonna’s publicist told TheWrap. “It was never a possibility. She has confirmed she will be performing her new single and three of her gems from the past.” Her new single, of course, being “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” which was released Friday. “Girls Gone Wild” is on Madonna’s upcoming album “MDNA,” which is scheduled for a March 26 release but went on presale at iTunes on Friday. In the letter, Houston said that his “research” indicated that Madonna would be performing the song at the Super Bowl. Perhaps now Francis can get back to what he should really be outraged about over Madonna’s halftime show — the singer’s vow that there won’t be any wardrobe malfunctions this year.

Mo to perform for free |
||||
Madonna released the song 'Material Girl' in 1985, and she’s spent the intervening time proving the moniker true. She earned $58 million in 2010 and grossed $280 million on her last tour, averaging $6 million in nightly ticket sales. But when Madonna performs her Super Bowl XVLI halftime set, she won’t be earning a penny. Why? Same reason the Black Eyed Peas didn’t get paid for theirs last year—halftime show acts perform for free. 'Typically, the entertainers for the Super Bowl do not get a cash payment,' explains Marc Ganis, president of the consultancy Sportscorp Ltd. 'This is the kind of exposure that entertainers would give their right arm for...they could do 20 Leno and Letterman appearances and still not reach that [kind of] audience.. Indeed, Madonna has plenty to gain from doing the show for free. Her new album, MDNA, is scheduled for release in March; she is expected perform its first single, 'Give Me All Your Luvin’,' at the Super Bowl with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. The film W.E., which the singer produced and directed, opens in the U.S. this week. And, to top it all off, Madonna will announce dates for her upcoming world tour after the game. 'No other vehicle provides a platform to entertain the nation on a day they want to be entertained,' says Paul Swangard, managing director of the University of Oregon’s Warsaw Sports Marketing Center. 'Sunday we’ll be reminded that before there was Gaga there was Madonna. It is clear the Material Girl still wants a piece of the action.' So how much is that action worth? Considering that the halftime show is essentially a nationwide advertisement for Madonna’s various ventures, let’s evaluate it in the context of what companies pay for commercial time during the game. Volkswagen recently paid $3.5 million for a 30-second spot, a new record. By that math, Madonna’s 12 minutes are worth $84 million. There are other perks. Though Madonna and other halftime acts don’t receive a performance fee, they receive plenty of goodies on top of the free advertising. They don’t have to pay for backup dancers, pyrotechnics, load-in, load-out, etc—expenses that can add up to $5-$10 million for a show like Madonna’s. They also receive free transportation and accommodation for their entourages. Given all these benefits, playing the Super Bowl halftime show for free is more than worth the trouble. In fact, it’s incredibly lucrative–and such a good deal for artists that some suspect a major change might be on the horizon. 'They get so much out of it,' says Ganis. 'Frankly, it wouldn’t shock me if, some day, the entertainers end up paying the NFL.'

Mo @ Olimpic Summer |
||||
On October the first rumors started, now it seems that is going to happen...
The biggest event in music history is being planned for Britain’s Olympic summer. Organisers want the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Madonna and Simon & Garfunkel as headline acts for a 12-night extravaganza. The Live Aid-style gathering could also see the surviving members of Pink Floyd and Whole Lotta Love rockers Led Zeppelin perform. More than one million tickets will go on sale for the concerts, which will take place at Hyde Park and Victoria Park during the games. Other massive acts who will be invited include Simon and Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, Take That, Jay-Z and the Spice Girls. A source told The People: “Bands are currently being approached. The tickets will sell out in no time. “Everything is being done to make sure this will the biggest music extravaganza ever, It is going to be huge. The hope is that the organisers can persuade some of the most successful and popular music acts ever to perform.” The first show will kick off on July 28, the night after the opening ceremony. The gigs will run for a further 11 nights between then and the August 12 closing ceremony when the Olympic torch will be handed over to Brazilian city Rio.
