Madonna has reportedly agreed that ex-husband Guy Richie can have full time custody of their sons over the summer while she’s on tour. Eight year old Rocco and four year old David joined their mum on the North & South American legs of her Sticky & Sweet Tour amid the star’s split from husband of eight years, Guy - but now she has agreed that they can stay with their dad for the whole summer while she’s playing 44 dates around Europe.A source close to the family told the Sun: “Guy absolutely dotes on his children and can’t wait to have them for a whole three months.“He is surprised and pleased that Madonna is being so generous - as she has at times been impossible.“Madonna will be travelling a lot and agreed it makes sense for them to stay with Guy rather than constantly be uprooted.“He’ll make it a summer they won’t forget.”The couple agreed to share custody of the boys after their separation in October last year but Guy’s access to the children is restricted as they now live in New York while he still lives in London.

Australian actor Hugh Jackman has come out in support of pop queen Madonna after her bid to adopt an African girl failed.The 40-year-old star, who himself has two adopted kids Oscar, eight, and three-year-old Ava, said he is sickened by cynics who favoured an African judges decision to reject Madges bid to adopt four-year-old baby girl Mercy James earlier this month.I challenge anyone who thinks you adopt a kid for a publicity stunt, the Sun quoted Jackman as saying.Anyone parent knows that would have to be the most intensive publicity stunt in the world. I am sure she is coming from a good place, he added.The X-men star admits that he can understand the Material Girls desire to adopt as he and wife Deborra-Lees wish to adopt a child from Asia or Africa was crushed under stringent Aussie rules.The adoption laws in Australia are too restrictive. Of course, checks need to be made. But they had a very negative approach, Jackman said.It was like they were trying to discourage you.There are 130million orphans in the world who is looking after them? Madonna has been dealt a devastating blow in her bid to adopt Malawian orphan Mercy James — the child’s father wants full custody of his little girl.The hitmaker wanted to become mom to the 3-year-old but her request for an interim adoption was turned down by a court in the country’s capital, Lilongwe, earlier this month.Madonna appealed the decision and an African court hearing is scheduled for Monday.But the singer’s hopes of the ruling being overturned could be dashed — Mercy’s biological father James Kambewa has now launched a bid to get his daughter back.And he’s hit out at the 50-year-old, branding her “”scandalous”" and calling her failed marriage to Guy Ritchie and subsequent relationship with boy-toy lover Jesus Luz, 22, an indication of a lack of “”good morals.”"Kambewa tells Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, “”She is my daughter; she is my blood; she needs parental love. She is not an orphan. She lost one parent, yes, but I am still alive and so she is not an orphan.“”Madonna has millions of dollars but that doesn’t make her a good mum. Parental love is more than money. Besides, I don’t think Madonna is a model mum. I have seen her in movies of her songs. She doesn’t portray good morals. How can a woman of 50 dance almost naked on stage? I wouldn’t want my daughter to grow up like that! In Malawi women respect themselves. A source told Britain's News of the World newspaper, "They have been praying at every waking hour. The adoption process has been stressful for Madonna. She's been telling pals it's felt as painful as childbirth."
Madonna's bid to adopt Mercy was rejected because she had not lived in the African country for 18 months, as is required by law. The 50-year-old star will plead her case to three judges at Malawi's Supreme Court of Appeal on May 4. Joseph Chigona, Registrar of the High Court, said, "As with all court cases involving infants, this one will be in chambers, not in an open court."
