From a chic Parisian cafe to a dimly lit New York studio, fashion’s dream team has produced the latest Louis Vuitton ads featuring Madonna. The star, along with designer Marc Jacobs and legendary photographer Steven Meisel, joined forces a second time to create Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2009 ad campaign. From the collection’s rich, dark fall colors to the portrait-like feel of each picture, the new ads take a different direction than the previous season. “While the two campaigns look very different, there is also a unity about them,” explains Marc Jacobs in the press release. “So it now feels like we have completed both parts of the story.” Meant to evoke the golden age of Hollywood, the moody ads even have Madonna showing off the infamous bunny ears she first wore to the Met Gala back in May.

MADONNA and ex Guy Ritchie’s are back on speaking terms thanks to her new daughter. The singer invited her former husband to meet adopted Mercy James. Guy, 40, spent Friday night with Madonna, 50, and the Malawian four-year-old.

He is said to have fallen in love with Mercy. A pal said: “He met her at Madonna’s house and they bonded immediately.
“He nicknamed her Koala, as she has this habit of clinging to people and not letting go.”

Guy also went to the London Kabbalah Centre with Madonna and Mercy, as well as her daughter Lourdes, 12, and their two sons David Banda, three, and Rocco, eight. At the time of their split it was claimed her desire to adopt again was the final straw for Guy. Sources say Madonna is over the moon that Guy is becoming part of the family again. Madonna and the kids will be based at her London home all summer while her Sticky And Sweet tour hits Europe.

Everything about Madonna is larger than life, from her record sales to her glittery costumes, to her recent legal battle to adopt a child in Malawi, to the price she paid for a 57-foot-wide town house on the outer fringes of the Upper East Side. Brokers scoffed at her foolishness when it was reported that she was in contract to buy a sprawling Georgian-style town house in the sticks, a k a far East 81st Street, for $40 million.

The place was nowhere near the elite homes of Fifth Avenue, beyond the lower-status Lexington Avenue and many blocks from the hallowed soil of Central Park. But last week, when she closed on the purchase, it turned out the hard-working Material Girl, sweating her way through another world tour at age 50, had not lost her street smarts. The rock star, born Madonna Louise Ciccone of Bay City, Mich., actually received a significant discount. She paid only $32.5 million, according to brokers briefed on the transaction. The final purchase price works out to a 28 percent discount from the $45 million price tag of the original listing, by Louise Beit of Sotheby’s International Real Estate. The property was listed last October, after the death of the longtime owner, Louise H. Saurel.Wendy Maitland, a broker at Brown Harris Stevens who has represented Madonna in the past, declined to discuss the transaction.The sale would still make it the highest town house sale in the anemic first half of 2009, but not out of line with recent sales of much smaller town houses in that neighborhood. Last year at the peak of the market, a 19-foot-wide town house on far East 78th Street sold for $9.5 million, or about $2,750 a square foot. The price per square foot paid by Madonna in a weaker market was about the same, but one could argue she got a lot more in the deal.With 57 feet of street frontage, her new mansion is one of the widest town houses in Manhattan, combining what appear to have once been three separate town houses. According to the listing, the house has 26 rooms, including a 38-foot-wide drawing room and 13 bedrooms. There are 9 fireplaces, 11-foot ceilings and, in the rear, a 3,000-square-foot garden. Who needs Central Park when your backyard is park size? If the house isn’t big enough, its size can be doubled under current zoning, and unlike those precious buildings on Fifth Avenue, it is situated beyond the purview of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. In any event, with a two-car garage on the premises, the new owner could whisk her children to the park by limousine in about as much time as it would take to go by elevator from a Fifth Avenue penthouse to the lobby.

Jackson’s tour to become tribute concert. Madonna among possible high-profile singers to perform in place of pop star. The show will go on for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” tour. The announcement was made at a June 26 memorial gathering for Jackson, held by the tour’s cast and crew. According to a tour organizer, one performance will now be held in September and will be a replica of what was planned for “This Is It” in London. High-profile singers are expected to perform in place of Jackson. Among them, possibly Madonna, who was expected to appear at one of Jackson’s shows in London. A firm decision has not been made as to where the tribute concert will take place, but it’s likely to be in Los Angeles.

Michael Jackson's family is now saying it may have been his daily injections of Demerol that led to his death. Demerol is a morphine-like drug he was addicted to. How heartbreaking that Jackson felt the need to numb his life by taking daily Demerol shots. Those close to him are saying that yesterday's dose, which he received at 11:30 a.m., may have been "too much.

Madonna is planning to add a special tribute song on her "Sticky & Sweet Tour" that starts in a week in London, she wants to pay homage to the King of Pop, is not clear what song will be but we are sure that will be amazing!!!.

Madonna was making plans to take to the stage for a one-time performance with Michael Jackson at his 50-date London residency. Despite a reportedly frosty relationship, following a planned duet that never materialized, Madonna was to join the late King of Pop onstage at the 02 Arena in London. Dates were due to start in July and Madonna was all set to be a special guest, according to her manager Guy Oseary. In a post on his Twitter blog, Oseary says, "A month ago Madonna told me she wanted to do a surprise performance at one of Michael Jackson's UK shows."

Jackson was pronounced dead at UCLA Medical Center on Thursday after suffering a fatal heart attack.The Material Girl singer, who is the same age as 50-year-old Jackson, became the female equivalent of the Thriller superstar as they were propelled to phenomenal levels of fame in the 1980s.The pair accompanied each other to the 1991 Oscars, with Madonna dressed in full Marilyn Monroe mode, famously leading a less-confident Jackson down the red carpet.Rumors even suggested the pop supercouple was an item, but Madonna killed that story by romancing Warren Beatty

A source very close to the superstar tell us the entertainer plans ”to spend a lot of quiet, nurturing, private time with Mercy in England” in order to bond with her and ”equally important … have her bond with and start to get to know her siblings.” Madonna has three other children: Lourdes, 12; Rocco, 8, and David, 3 (who also came from Malawi).In addition, perhaps not surprisingly, Madonna is bringing in a battery of physicians and early development experts to evaluate Mercy and provide information to her new mother to better help the 3-year-old’s assimilation into a world far different than what she’s known.”Not only will Mercy be learning to live in a new country, with totally different customs, but she’s also being thrust into a very rarified world of privilege. … Though at her young age, all of that will not be as apparent as it will be a couple of years from now, if not sooner,” added the source. ”She’ll be lucky, however, as she will have plenty of older brothers and sisters who will clue her in to what it means to be Madonna’s child.”

 

Madonna is getting ready to release her greatest hits album, Iconography, in September – possibly September 22. It will be her final album with Warner Brothers and it will contain three new songs "Broken", "I'm Sorry" and "Celebrate".

The timing of the album’s release may be bad. Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey (known for their drug abuse) are going to be releasing albums around the same time. Whitney Houston’s Undefeated is due on September 1, one week after Mariah Carey’s Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel.

 

Madonna is trying to recreate her beloved Wiltshire manor in the middle of Manhattan. Architects in charge of renovating her new £20million pad have been told it has to be a dead ringer for Ashcombe House, which she shared with ex hubby Guy Ritchie.A source said: “Madonna is obsessed with making it a match with Ashcombe.“She wants matching wallpaper, fabrics and furniture. She has meticulously documented her old home room, by room with photographs and she’s sent a team of assistants to stores that stock authentic period pieces.”

What musicians made the most money in the past year?Forbes just released its annual list of the top-earning musicians (from June 2008 to June 2009), and the top three spots are:

Forbes estimated the musicians’ gross earnings by tallying album sales, publishing rights and endorsements from Billboard, Pollstar and Nielsen SoundScan. According to Forbes, the top 10 highest-grossing musicians piled up just about $719 million this past year, compared with $500 million the year before. The reasons for the surge? Ticket prices are up $5 on average, which is the largest price hike in years, Forbes reports.

British newspaper The Sun reports that Madonna wants to treat Mercy and David to a trip to see the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, Israel.

"The Queen Of Pop sees the jaunt as an ideal way to introduce Mercy to Kaballah, the mystical Jewish faith which she has practised for the last ten years," writes The Sun.

The holiday is being planned to coincide with Madonna's final date on her Sticky And Sweet tour in Tel Aviv.

A source of The Sun said: "Madonna wants to give Mercy enough time to settle in to her new home. By September she feels she will be ready to take the trip without danger of upheaval. The Wailing Wall is a very sacred place for anyone with links to the Jewish faith and she wants all the children to see it."

Meanwhile, in London, according to The Sun, Madonna's pal STELLA McCARTNEY is busy organising a party to mark Mercy's arrival.

 

Mercy James Ciccone, the little girl Madonna adopted from Malawi, is set to accompany the U.S. pop star when she goes back on tour this summer, sources said.The Mirror reported the child will leave London for New York with the singer later this week, then return to England in July when Madonna resumes her “Sticky and Sweet” concert tour.Mercy, who has been variously reported as 3 or 4 years old, is then expected to travel to Italy, Germany, Sweden, Hungary and Israel where her mother is performing, the newspaper said.“Madonna is so happy to have all her children around her and for Mercy to be finally with them,” a source close to the recording artist told The Mirror. “It’s been a long, difficult process to go through and she’s faced quite a bit of negativity along the way for her decisions. But she said, ‘My family is finally complete, we’re all together at last.’ It was a beautiful moment. She is over the moon that Mercy is with her.”
