C E L E B R A T I O N

I think you wanna' come over, yeah I heard it through the grapevine.
Are you drunk or you sober? Think about it, doesn't matter
and if it makes you feel good then I say do it,
I don't know what you're waiting for

Feel my temperature rising
There's too much heat I'm gonna' lose control
Do you want to go higher, get closer to the fire,
I don't know what you're waiting for

Come join the party, yeah
Coz' everybody just won't do.
Let's get this started, yeah
Coz' everybody wants to party with you.

Boy you got a reputation, but you're gonna' have to prove it
I see a little hesitation,
Am I gonna' have to show you that if it feels right, get on your marks
Step to the beat boy that's what it's for

Put your arms around me
When it gets too hot we can go outside
But for now just come here, let me whisper in your ear
An invitation to the dance tonight

Come join the party, it's a celebration
Anybody just won't do
Let's get this started, no more hesitation
Coz' everybody wants to party with you

Haven't I seen you somewhere before?
You look familiar…
You wanna' dance? …Yeah.
I guess I just don't recognize you with your cloths on… (laughs)
What are you waiting for?

Come join the party, it's a celebration
Anybody just won't do
Let's get this started, no more hesitation
Coz' everybody wants to party with you X 2

Boy you've got it, it's a celebration
Coz' anybody just won't do
Let's get it started, no more hesitation
Coz' everybody wants to party with you

Boy you've got it
Coz' anybody just won't do
Let's get it started, no more hesitation
Coz' everybody wants to party with you

  S&S Poland Celebration

Polish fans joined together in song to wish Madonna a happy birthday at a concert in Warsaw Saturday evening – just hours before she turned 51, AP reported. In a break between two songs, a fan held up a sign wishing her a happy birthday and audience members sang, “may you live a hundred years,” a traditional Polish birthday song.“I feel your love!” Madonna told the crowd of tens of thousands gathered on a large green field for the latest stop in her Sticky & Sweet tour. Many of the fans near the stage also held up paper hearts. One said: “Adopt Me.”Her stop in Warsaw fell not only a day before her birthday, but also on the August 15, the Roman Catholic holiday celebrating the heavenly assumption of the Virgin Mary – timing that angered some Catholics.Several people who objected to Madonna held up banners outside the concert venue, and a Catholic group tried to spearhead protests in past weeks hoping to force the Material Girl to change the date of the concert. It failed, however, to win support from the official church or the public. Though Poland, homeland of the late John Paul II, is mainly Catholic, young urban Poles have overwhelmingly embraced pop culture and mores.During the concert, Madonna also paid tribute to Michael Jackson, who died in June.A Jackson impersonator did the King of Pop’s signature moonwalk dance move while wearing a sequined jacket, white T-shirt, white glove and white socks, while a large photograph of him as a boy appeared on stage.“Let’s give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known,” Madonna shouted, and then segued into a performance of her old hit “Holiday.”

  S&S Poland tonight!

Forget papa don't preach... Madonna can expect an earful from the church when she hits Poland today. Catholics have denounced her plans to perform in Warsaw as blasphemous. The date clashes with the Feast of the Assumption when Catholics believe the Virgin Mary ascended to Heaven. It's also Poland's Armed Forces Day. Ex-president Lech Walesa appealed to concert organisers: "Please avoid any collision with my faith during this extraordinary day." We hear that some of the faithful are praying for God to stop Madge's gig. Come on guys, whe are adults, show her a little Mercy, she´s not responsable for the "fuked-up brain of yours"!

THE GOOD THING IS MORE CONTROVERSY MORE TIKET SALES!

And at the same time, in the same country..

Pop diva Madonna may have upset some Catholic Poles by timing her debut Polish concert to coincide with a big religious holiday on Saturday, but she is sure of a warm welcome if she visits the tiny village of Rumin.

In Rumin in central Poland, her fans plan to name a street after her and want to make her an honorary "citizen". If she does visit, the young girls of the village also intend to perform dances for her in the freshly harvested fields.

"Rumin is like Madonna, Rumin is top. Rumin is trendy, Rumin is fashion. That's the general idea and we want to underline that Rumin is very similar to Madonna. And we want Madonna to join Rumin by accepting honorary citizenship," said Mariusz Ciszak, the main organiser of the campaign.

He has designed Madonna T-shirts and sweaters which some of the villagers are now wearing.

It was not clear on Friday whether Madonna had any plans to visit the village, about 230km west of Warsaw, during her stay.

Madonna has upset some believers in devoutly Roman Catholic Poland by timing her Polish debut concert to coincide with the day when Christians mark the Virgin Mary's ascension to heaven.

Madonna has often annoyed conservative Christians, kissing an actor playing Jesus in one of her videos and staging a crucifixion scene in her last world tour.

As well as her Warsaw concert, the singer is also expected to pay a visit to the former Nazi death camp of Auschwitz in southern Poland where up to 1.5 million people, mostly Jews, perished during World War Two.

Madonna is a follower of the Kabbalah, a mystical strand of Judaism, though she is not Jewish and was raised as a Catholic.
She's got fans across the world, but even Madonna might not have seen anything like this. Ahead of a Warsaw concert, one village has 'become Madonna'

"Celebration" debuts at No. 71 on the Billboard Hot 100
Not great, but not bad considering that's all from sales, not airplay!

  • Debuts at No. 36 on Hot Digital Tracks

Debuts at No. 29 on Hot Dance Club Play

Debuts at No. 7 on Hot Dance Airplay

Something to note: Warner has not (yet) added any promotional advertising on iTunes or Amazon for the single. You have to search for it. Basically if you're not a super fan, you wouldn't even know it was available to download. Also of note, Mariah Carey's new album has been pushed back again, and is now scheduled to be released on the same day as Madonna, 29 Sept 2009.

  Mo in Auschwitz

Apparently, rumours were true... Madonna is going to visit Auschwitz, Poland today. She is now moving from Prague, Czech Republic, to Cracow, Poland, which is near the concentration camps.

The original Polish names of the cities where the German Nazis build two concentration camps - Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II - are Oświęcim and Birkenau.

Madonna is about to perform in Poland for the very first time. There were a lot of controversies for her Sticky & Sweet concert in Warsaw tomorrow. Polish Arch Catholics organized a demonstration to 'spoil' the concert. But the protest has been cancelled.

  Madonna rules Prague!!!

U.S. pop star Madonna had her music show on the outskirts of the city before some 40,000 people tonight within her Sticky & Sweet tour that presented the big hits of her long career as well as a laser and light show. The show started a half an hour later as the preparations took more time than expected. The cheapest tickets worth some 1000 crowns were still available shortly before Madonna appeared on stage while the audience listened to DJ Paul Oakenfold, but most of the most expensive tickets were sold long before the concert. Many people listened to the music in the streets outside the paid area.Apart from Praguers and other Czechs, fans arrived from the neighbouring Germany and Poland but also Russia and Italy. Some of the visitors spent the night before the show in tents outside the concert area, built specially for the concert in Prague-Chodov near a highway. Some Chodov residents signed a petition in protest against the concert earlier this year, fearing high noise levels. However, the spokesman for the district said the noise did not markedly exceed the set limits in residential areas. Some 70 trucks with the technical equipment for the concert and Madonna's accompanying team arrived in Prague from Copenhagen on Wednesday. Sixteen of the trucks transported a special stage.Over 1000 people, including security agencies' workers, policemen as well as firefighters and health care personnel, provide safety and order during the show.ČTK . For the first time she sang here in September 2006. The tickets for both of her concerts in an arena for 17,000 viewers were sold out in a record short time.

  No Mo in MJ tribute

Madonna's PR Liz Rosenberg has denied rumours that Madonna would feature in the Michael Jackson tribute show BUT has added confusion by saying that 'It's not true. She's still on tour' - Madonna is on tour now but is not touring when the tribute show takes place: A star-studded tribute concert honouring late superstar Michael Jackson has been thrown into jeopardy after representatives for Whitney Houston and Madonna denied the singers have signed up to headline the show.
Plans to honour the late King Of Pop with a gig in Vienna, Austria next month were confirmed by Jermaine Jackson earlier this week. Jackson is co-ordinating the event with talk show host Larry King's wife Shawn.
Usher, Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston were all confirmed as performers at the memorial show, in the grounds of the city's former imperial Schoenbrunn Palace, by Shawn King's spokesman Howard Rubenstein.
Producer Georg Kindel from World Awards Media, the company behind the event, also hinted that Queen Of Pop Madonna was set to pay tribute to the Thriller hitmaker.
But spokespersons for Houston and the Holiday hitmaker have hit back at reports of the stars' participation in the extravaganza, according to New York gossip column PageSix.
Madonna's rep Liz Rosenberg says, 'It's not true. She's still on tour,' while Houston's spokeswoman Jill Fritzo adds, '(No). Not that I am aware of.'
The concert will be broadcast live on TV and over 85,000 fans will be given the chance to attend. Ticket sales for The Tribute go on sale on 20 August.

  S&S Copenhagen

Madonna surprised her son Rocco as he turned nine years old on Tuesday - by urging the 50,000-strong crowd at her show in Denmark to sing Happy Birthday to him.
The Holiday hitmaker is currently taking her Sticky & Sweet tour around the globe and the star's clan was in the Scandinavian country when her eldest son, by director Guy Ritchie, celebrated his big day.
And during her concert in the capital city of Copenhagen, Madonna halted her set to announce Rocco's ninth birthday to gig-goers - and encouraged the crowd at the Parken Stadium to sing a chorus of Happy Birthday for the delighted youngster.
She shouted out, 'Happy Birthday to my son Rocco, who is watching the show right now and I just want to say that I love you very much. You are a number one son and maybe everyone would like to sing Happy Birthday to him.'

  No Barbie doll 4 Mo

Madonna has shot down claims she wants her own Barbie doll. It was recently claimed that the Holiday hitmaker, 50, had demanded a figurine in her very own image after hearing that makers Mattel was creating one for Project Runway host & supermodel Heidi Klum.”The Material Mom immediately contacted Mattel, figuring she was a shoe-in, but because of her raunchy image, the toy company turned her down flat!” reported American tabloid The Globe.
”Since she’s used to getting what she wants, Madonna is now considering launching her own doll collection to rival Barbie.”But Madonna’s rep has spoken out to set the record straight:
”[The report] isn”t true,” said the spokesman, joking that Madge’s supposed new company will manufacture dolls that have “the same arms as her.”

  S&S Israel details

The producer of Madonna's upcoming shows in Israel revealed details of her act at a press conference yesterday, just weeks before the pop superstar's arrival. Madonna is scheduled to perform two shows at Tel Aviv's Hayarkon Park, on September 1 and 2.

Producer Shuki Weiss confirmed that technical teams have arrived in Israel in the past few days, and that the Israeli production team has begun preparing the ground for her visit. A stage 18 meters high was prepared in May, including four hydraulic elevators and a 25-meter catwalk that will extend from the stage into the crowd. Film clips and laser patterns will be screened, and Madonna will be accompanied by 17 dancers, who will change costumes no fewer than eight times during the performance.

Weiss confirmed that Madonna's entourage would number around 200 people by the time of the concert, but neither confirmed nor denied rumors that some famous friends of hers, including Justin Timberlake, would be among them.

The playlist for the concert - which will run for exactly two hours and 15 minutes - is expected to be exactly the same as that used at other performances during the current Sticky & Sweet Tour, which began in 2008.

Tickets are completely sold out for the first concert on September 1, but are still available for the second show the following day.

1

The September 1 concert will be Madonna's second performance in Israel. She first appeared at Hayarkon Park 16 years ago as part of her Girlie tour, and also visited Israel in 2006 during the Jewish High Holidays along with 2,000 other students of Kabbalah.
