Billboard’s pan-European sales chart leaders continue their runs, with Madonna’s “Celebration” (Warner Bros.) starting a second week at No. 1 on Top 100 Albums and “Sexy Chick” (Gum/Positiva/Virgin/EMI) by David Guetta featuring Akon into a fifth week at No. 1 on European Hot 100 Singles.

“Celebration” falls 1-2 in Italy and on the U.K. chart, with weekly sales in the latter market of 52,000, but holds at No. 1 for a second week in Germany. Muse holds at No. 2 overall for a second week with the former chart-topper “The Resistance” (Helium 3/Warner Music), which descends in most markets but is still No. 1 in Switzerland.

In Canada, the top 10 is topped by Madonna at No. 1. “Celebration,” came in on top with 17,000 in sales, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.

On the singles front, there’s some confusion about the double US vinyl for Celebration. The original release date was October 6th, but after Amazon put the status on “cancelled”, they just updated their listing and it has a new release date, October 20th.
Apparently, Revolver is currently being remixed and maybe will be released as a single, but no sign of a video.

Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet” Show which was filmed in Buenos Aires’ River Plate Stadium, where she performed for 256,000 fans will make its world premiere on EPIX. The announcement was confirmed by the multiplatform entertainment service today. TV and online audiences will be able to see “Sticky & Sweet” for the very first time when it debuts across all EPIX

Madonna has instructed her realstate agents to search for a 1.7 million apartment in New York to give to Jesus.

Madonna is not ready to move her lover in with her four children, according to The Sun, so has compromised by asking that the property is within walking distance of her £25 million townhouse in the Upper East Side.

The apartment will be paid for by her, but will be in his name.

A source told The Sun: "Em is buying Jesus an apartment in New York. She has her real estate agent searching for the perfect pad for him in the new neighbourhood where she has just moved.

"She's told them to spend no more than £1.7million and the pad has to be within walking distance of her townhouse. She is financing everything but Jesus will own it once it's found and bought.

"She really wasn't kidding when she told him he'll never have to worry about money from now on."

It is also alleged that Jesus, a Brazillian model, is on the payroll of Madonna's company. His famous girlfriend has also arranged top modelling assignments for him with her designer friends Dolce & Gabbbana and Marc Jacobs.

When was the last time?

When I met Madonna for the first time. I met her at her home on Central Park West to talk about working on her Sex book. It was very comfortable but very uncomfortable at the same time, which is a very interesting feeling. She’s very imposing and knows what she wants. She’s very informed and opinionated, which makes her genius. She takes you in and swallows you up—and you don’t mind it, you actually enjoy it. There’s an unspoken seduction that goes on. I was young, She was young, too, and beautiful.

That was an unforgettable era.

Yeah, she put that book out at the best moment. She timed it very well. She knows what she’s doing. And such drive. Some people want to lift stones and see what’s under it. She’ll be on a beach with millions of stones and want to lift every one of them.

You have that kind of drive.

Madonna has won substantial damages from the Mail on Sunday after photos from her wedding to Guy Ritchie were published.

Madonna has today accepted undisclosed substantial damages from UK newspaper The Daily Mail following their having printed private photos of her wedding to UK film director Guy Ritchie in the newspaper on October 19th, 2008.

Madonna, who was not at London's High Court on Tuesday for the settlement had been seeking more than £5m in damages in her action against Associated Newspapers. It was annouced that the damages awarded will be paid to Madonna's charity Raising Malawi.

Madonna's solicitor, John Kelly, said she had gone to great lengths to ensure the wedding was kept private and had chosen not to sell pictures to the media. "It was far more important to the claimant that the privacy of the occasion was maintained," he added.

Solicitor Niri Shan, acting for Associated Newspapers, offered its apologies to the singer and her family for invading her privacy and infringing her copyright.

Kidd is Texas-based but his show is syndicated and heard on more than 75 affiliates across the US.

The first TV encounter of Madonna and Lady Gaga came during "Saturday Night Live" this week, when the Material Girl appeared unannounced in a Deep House Dish skit alongside the contemporary hitmaker when a similar bizarre visual bent.

A few bars into a song and dance number, Madonna grabbed Lady Gaga's blonde hair and here was one of those cliched hair-pulling catfights in skimpy outfits. "What the hell is a disco stick?" she demanded.

The dance number didn't seem to go as planned. Lady Gaga sang while Madonna didn't. It didn't matter - seeing them together was the big thing.

Invited to sit on the couch, they continued their fake fighting.

"Guess what Madonna I'm totally hotter than you!" Lady Gaga said.
"Guess what I'm totally taller than you," she replied adding: "What kind of name is Lady Gaga. It sounds like baby food..."
"The kind that's No. 1 on the Billboard charts," Gaga replied lunging on her.

Kenan Thompson's character DJ Dynasty Handbag wanted them to make up. And because some dude wrote it, he asked them to kiss. Madonna's kiss to other female pop stars has been some kind of annointment in the past, as when she laid on on Britney Spears at a past MTV video music awards. But Kenan's character interjected himself between them to receive their kisses.

The sketch came just before the first of Gaga's performance of "Paparazzi," not nearly as elaborate as it was at the VMAs last month. However, later in the show, for "Disco Stick" and a performance of "Poker Face," she wore what looked to be a giant gyroscope.

Madonna was the biggest of several guest stars on the show hosted by Ryan Reynolds, though Scarlett Johansson, who also appeared unnanounced was pretty big. Elijah Wood also popped in on the show.

Madonna and Lady Gaga stunned America on Saturday night by staging a catfight on live TV.

The two pop divas performed a synchronised dance-off, dressed in matching black lingerie and knee-high boots, as part of a comedy skit on Saturday Night Live, which was called to a halt when Madonna started pulling Gaga's wig and throttling her, yelling, "What the hell is a disco stick?" - referring to the younger star's hit.

The feuding pair was separated by the host of fictitious MTV show Deep House Dish, but a comedy war of words ensued as Gaga, the show's musical guest, cooed, "Guess what Madonna, I'm totally hotter than you," to which the Material Girl replied, "Hey guess what, I'm taller than you. What sort of a name is Lady Gaga; it sounds like baby food!"

The pop pair ended the skit by moving in to kiss each other and then attacking SNL regular Kenan Thompson instead.
It was a star-studded Saturday Night Live with Ryan Reynolds guest hosting and his wife Scarlett Johansson playing his comedy spouse in a skit about a family porcelain fountain firm.

Madonna made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live last night - her first time on the show since 1993 - performing a "Deep House Dish" skit together with Lady Gaga.

"Celebration" is at the #1 spot in Mexico and despite being a more expensive 2-CD set it is the best selling CD in the country.

The double DVD will be released on October 8th in Mexico, and it is expected to top the charts as well.

Madonna's "Celebration" album moves up 2 places to #6 on the ARIA Australia chart and is now certified gold.

Madonna also debuts at #1 on the ARIA DVD chart with the accompanying "Celebration - The Video Collection".

Madonna's doulbe album "Celebration" the ultimate collection of hits has made its way up to the number one position in Belgium's (Flanders) UltraTop 50.

Madonna's "Celebration" ultimate collection of hits is now Platinum in Poland! Certification for the new album was given on September 30th, 2009. Madonna's 'Celebration' is going No.1 around the world.

Madonna made a surprise appearance on tonights SNL show with Lady Gaga, here are the rehearsal photos.

 

She may have had a starring role in mum's latest video, but that's where Lourdes pop career may start and finish, says Madonna.

The Queen of Pop says her 12-year-old daughter does not want to follow in the family business and become a pop star.

'I don't think she wants to be a singer. I think she wants to be an actress,' admits Madge.

'I'm fine with it as long as she finishes school and takes it seriously.'

Lourdes is currently enrolled at the Manhattan Professional Children's School to help kick-start her career.

She recently appeared in Madonna's Celebration video, dressed up in the Like a Virgin outfit made infamous by her mother.

But if the acting career doesn't quite take off, Madonna, 51, is confident her girl will shine in another creative field.

'She also plays piano and she's really into clothes and fashion and style. She can go in any direction,' the singer told PopEater.

Lourdes's unique childhood should also have prepared her for a life in the spotlight.

'She's been chased by the paparazzi since she was a tiny baby,' says Madonna.

And Madge is adamant she is not going to become a pushy stage mother. She says, 'I'm not pushing anything. We'll see what she wants to do.'

Whatever happened to being offered nurse, teacher or librarian at school?!

Madonna gave an interview via phone to KIIS FM's Ryan Seacrest show at 8:15 am pacific time as part of the Celebration promotion. Ryan asked about the greatest hits, she said she's never able to choose the songs for something like this so they went out to the fans, asked them, it was a democratic process. She was asked to guess her own songs when Ryan played some clips, she didn't immediately guess because she's "mixing them up". She often hears her own music in various places, but the songs she's fed up with, Ryan played Like A Virgin and said "that's the one I don't want to hear". When asked how many songs the compilation has, she was like "are you asking me?" then she said she does not know how many number ones she has because she's not a statistic person.
About upcoming projects, Madonna talked about trying to fund and cast for a movie called "We", based on 2 parallel stories, one of them being the Duchess of Windsor and another one based on a New York couple.
As for her personal life, she said she's happier now and that's why the music will get even better. Ryan kept saying she's a fun and new Madonna now, she said she's not stressed out and relaxed. She is dating someone now, but is a "one man woman". She can't really get her head around of marrying again, since most people get married for the wrong reasons. When Ryan flirted with her, she said he's too old for her (34) and said guys her age are either married or divorced. About her gym routine, she said she was sacrificing her workout time at 8:30 for the interview and that Tracy Anderson is no longer her trainer.
Ryan said he was at the LA show last year next to Jennifer Lopez, Madonna did not notice him but was getting sharp looks from Jlo and her ponytail distracted her. About Kanye, she would have given him a good talking to, because he needs to put a lid on it, but she does think he's very talented.
About her VMA tribute, the man who runs MTV was nervous about the seriousness of her speech and wondered if she could keep the attention.
When asked how long she's been with publicist Liz Rosenberg, she said "that's a personal question".

Madonna has revealed on a US TV chat show that she will never get married again.
Appearing on David Letterman's show, the 51-year-old said she would rather be 'run over by a train' than tie the knot for a third time.
The star, now divorced from film director Guy Ritchie, also admitted it was not always easy being alone.
'Being a single parent means you're kind of in charge of everything,' said the singer.
She added: 'You can't go 'hey, can you give the kids a bath?' There's no job sharing.'
The star, who recently released her third greatest hits album called Celebration, referred to George W Bush's period as US president, joking that her eight year marriage had only lasted 'the Bush years'.
She then added: 'It was a good time to be out of America.'
During her eighth appearance on Letterman's show, Madonna revealed she had never visited a New York pizzeria.
So Letterman took the pop star - who is famous for her healthy diet and lifestyle - to a local restaurant where she was seen eating pizza.

The compilation's 77,000 first-week U.K. sales give Madonna her 11th No. 1 album there (including 1996's 'Evita' soundtrack). That draws her level with Elvis Presley with the most U.K. chart-toppers of any solo artist, only behind the Beatles' best total for any artist of 15.
